[Shanghai will promote the deployment and operation of 500 ride-hailing vehicles for data collection and establish an evaluation system for large-scale autonomous driving models] Tang Wenkan, Deputy Director of the Shanghai Municipal Commission of Economy and Informatization, stated at the "Model-Driven, Intelligent Mobility for the Future" AI-Empowered Autonomous Driving Innovation and Development Forum, a key event of the 2025 World Artificial Intelligence Conference, that in 2024, the output value of Shanghai's automotive industry above designated size reached 703.5 billion yuan, and the cumulative promotion volume of NEVs reached 1.645 million units, ranking first among global cities. Currently, Shanghai has gathered nine automakers and over 600 parts enterprises, attracting more than 150,000 high-end talents. The industry boasts a solid foundation and strong momentum for development. To accelerate the construction of a leading zone for high-level autonomous driving, Shanghai will promote the deployment and operation of 500 ride-hailing vehicles for data collection, with an expected collection of over 10 million clips of data within the year, and establish an evaluation system for large-scale autonomous driving models to achieve mass production applications of end-to-end intelligent driving models.
